This award is given at the National Society level and is based on a variety of outstanding activities in the past year with the chapter, professional development, communication, governmental affairs, inter-society affairs and with the ASSE Foundation. to Dale Walsh, CIH, CSP, CEM for being selected as the
2008-2009 Southern Nevada Chapter Safety Professional
of the Year!

Federal Safety Professional of the Year: |
|
- Chapter
member, Xavier F. Aponte was awarded the National Nuclear
Security Administration (NSSA) Safety Professional of
the Year award for 2008. Xavier was given the award for
demonstrating outstanding leadership, oversight and skill
in implementing effective Electrical Safety Programs at
the Nevada Test Site. The ASSE Southern Nevada Chapter
congradulates Xavier for this outstanding achievment.

2006-2007

| ASSE
Chapter of the Year Award: |
|
- The
Southern Nevada chapter was named Chapter of the Year
for Medium Chapter at the ASSE’s annual Professional
Development Conference (PDC) held in Orlando, FL on June
24 – 27, 2007. The chapter was recognized for their
strong professional development activities, dedication
to supporting the ASSE Foundation (ASSEF) and excellent
communications such as newsletters and website. The Southern
Nevada chapter held a number of events, which included
a yearlong child safety program partnered with the Fire
Prevention Association of Nevada titled “Risk Watch”
and they adopted a family for the December holiday season.
The chapter received a $1,000 award, a $500 stipend to
send a chapter representative to the annual ASSE PDC to
receive the award, recognition on a plaque at ASSE headquarters
and an award for the chapter president displaying the
award-winning year.
